A design skill that doesn't look AI-made
About
- A design skill that bundles anti-slop (anti-AI-slop) rules across typography/color/layout/motion/interaction into one, to avoid the predictable designs AI coding assistants produce
- When generating a page, it first decides the macrostructure and then applies the theme; it refuses to repeat any of the previous 3 structures, producing a differently shaped result every time
- Provides four actions: 1 default + 3 additional
- Default: generates UI. Reads the brief/project tokens/framework and generates in the order macrostructure → theme → refinement, running a slop test at the end
- Audit: provides a ranked punch list scoring the page's problems against an anti-pattern catalog. Diagnoses only, without making changes
- Redesign: keeps the copy/IA/brand and throws away only the structural parts, rebuilding with a new section rhythm/heading placement
- Study: give it a reference design as a screenshot/URL and it reads the structure rather than the pixels to extract its DNA, generating a portable design.md
- Purple gradient hero → one anchor color + one accent color, no gradient hero backgrounds. Add a hue tint to neutrals
- Inter used as display → a distinctive display font + a refined body font, using at least two font faces
- Everything center-aligned → push whitespace to one side and break symmetry at least once
- Icon-tile feature cards → asymmetric design, such as varying size/alignment or dropping the icons and leading with typography
- AI navigation → choose a nav archetype that fits the page genre (newspaper masthead, terminal command bar, etc.)
- Accent color under 5% in an OKLCH palette, spacing in multiples of 4 with no arbitrary padding like 17px, a reduced-motion alternative for every animation
- The Restraint principle: "nothing is better than something bad"
