Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is the earliest time of Coordinated Universal Time, with London as its starting point and Wellington as its end point.
Since January 1, 1972, 'Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)' has been the official term, but the term GMT is still widely used.
What is GMT?
GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) is the abbreviation for international standard time. It is the old name for mean solar time at longitude 0°, which passes through the former Royal Observatory in Greenwich, England. Writing UTC (Universal Time Coordinated) is also correct, but GMT is still commonly used. UTC is the standard time used worldwide since January 1, 1972. Korea (Seoul) is in the same time zone as Tokyo, Japan, and Yakutsk, 9 hours ahead of GMT. For reference, 0:00 Universal Time (UT) equals 9:00 Korean Standard Time (KST).
