Google Chrome is a freeware web browser developed using the WebKit layout engine. Google Chrome aims to provide a simple and efficient user interface and to offer better stability, speed, and security than other existing web browsers. A beta version for Microsoft Windows was released on September 3, 2008, and the first stable version was released on December 11, 2008. The word chrome originally refers to the window frame in a graphical user interface; here it refers to the browser frame area, and the browser was reportedly named Chrome with the goal of minimizing this area. According to StatCounter statistics, as of 2012 it is the most widely used web browser in the world.

Install Firefox / Google Chrome Java Plugin for Fedora 17
Describes how to run the Java plugin for Google Chrome on Fedora 17 (there is an issue where it does not run even when installed correctly).
Download and install JAVA, then find the location of libnpjp2.so.
Create a symbolic link. (Paste the path of libnpjp2.so in place of {NPJP2_PATH}.)
## Firefox Users:
$ cd /home/user/.mozilla/plugins (replace user with your username)
$ ln -s {NPJP2_PATH}
## Chrome Users:
$ cd /opt/google/chrome/
$ mkdir plugins
$ cd plugins
$ ln -s $PATH/libnpjp.so
Running JAVA in Chrome on Mac OSX

Once Java 7 is installed on Mac OS X, the Java plugin can no longer be used in Chrome. This is because Chrome is a 32-bit application and does not support the 64-bit Java 7. You could simply not use Java 7, but sometimes that is not possible for reasons such as development. This is a workaround for such cases. Since Java 6 remains and is not removed even after Java 7 is installed, the fix swaps only the internet plugin file back to Java 6.
#!/bin/sh
# Checks for backup directory for Java 7 plug-in
# and creates it if needed.
if [ -d "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins (Disabled)" ]; then
echo "Backup Directory Found"
else
mkdir "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins (Disabled)"
chown -R root:wheel "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins (Disabled)"
fi
# If a previous version of the Java 7 plug-in is already
# in the backup directory, the previously backed up Java 7
# plug-in is removed.
if [ -d "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins (Disabled)/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin" ]; then
rm -rf "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins (Disabled)/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin"
fi
# Moves current Java 7 plug-in to the backup directory
if [ -d "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin" ]; then
mv "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin" "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins (Disabled)/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin"
fi
# Create symlink to the Apple Java 6 plug-in in
# /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
ln -sf /System/Library/Java/Support/Deploy.bundle/Contents/Resources/JavaPlugin2_NPAPI.plugin "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin"
# Re-enable Java SE 6 Web Start, which allows Java

Troubleshooting
Target Packages (main/binary-amd64/Packages) is configured multiple times
If you see the following warning message when running apt update
this is because the Google Chrome package creates a special file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-chrome.list; deleting this file fixes it.
Backspace input not working in Korean IME

- [Chrome 135/Linux + Wayland breaks neo layers 3 and 4 and Dead keys / AltGr 407930251 - Chromium]
The problem appeared after upgrading Chrome to Version 135.0.7049.84 (Official Build) (64-bit). Apparently people fixed it by downgrading to 134... -_-;; Sigh..

- Chrome 131 adds the Direct Sockets API | GeekNews
- Direct Sockets API - Chrome Platform Status
- Lets isolated web apps communicate directly with network devices and systems over TCP and UDP, and lets web apps listen for and accept incoming connections
- Many network devices use their own protocols over TCP or UDP instead of HTTPS
- Like WebUSB, WebMIDI, and WebBluetooth, this API lets web apps communicate with local devices and information systems
- Extends existing work on PWA installation and web packaging; provides stronger protection against server compromise and other tampering
- Packaged as web bundles instead of being hosted on a live web server and fetched over HTTPS
- Currently, IWAs can only be installed via administrator policy on enterprise-managed ChromeOS devices
- [Original] explainers-by-googlers/local-network-access: A proposal to restrict sites from accessing a users' local network without permission
- The Chrome security team proposes a new "local network access permission" scheme to address websites accessing local networks
- Currently, public websites can potentially access or attack local network devices such as the user's printer without authorization; this proposal aims to block local network requests without the user's permission
- Unlike the existing Private Network Access (PNA), it works based on user permission consent instead of preflight, strengthening user control, and can be addressed with site updates alone, without device changes
- Specifically, when a public site makes a fetch request to a local IP, a .local domain, etc. without permission, the browser shows the user an explicit consent prompt
- This policy strengthens security and privacy while ensuring that legitimate use cases such as IoT device setup work normally once the user grants permission
