About
- Go 1.26 introduces a completely rewritten go fix command that can automatically improve code using the latest language and library features
- The tool detects code patterns through dozens of analyzers (analyzer) and applies various modernizers (modernizer) such as minmax, rangeint, and stringscut to convert repetitive or outdated code to modern forms
- A newexpr analyzer was added to support the new new(expr) feature, so helper functions like newInt can be simplified automatically
- go fix creates a synergy effect when run multiple times: different analyzers can suggest improvements in succession, and it includes automatic merging on conflicts and removal of unneeded imports
- The Go team plans to expand through a 'self-service (Self-service)' analysis paradigm so developers can define and distribute modernizers for their own APIs
