The GOT (Global Offset Table) is a section of a computer program's memory used so that program code compiled as an ELF file runs correctly, independent of the memory address where the program's code or data is loaded at runtime.
The table referenced by the PLT, holding the addresses of procedures. When the PLT calls an external procedure, it looks up the GOT and jumps to that address. (The GOT stores the addresses of external library functions.)
