Tool for backing up an entire GitHub user/organization

Features

• Python package that backs up an entire GitHub organization/repository/user account
  • Includes starred repositories, issues, and wikis
  • Uses the most suitable format (clone for wikis, json files for issues)
• github-backup USERNAME -o BACKUP_PATH --repositories --issues --wikis
  • Includes username, save location, repos, issues, wikis
• Recommended to create a Pesonal Access Token, grant permissions, and run with it. Authentication via SSH or password is also possible but not recommended
• The GitHub API has a limit of 5000 requests per hour
  • By default it waits automatically to stay within the API limit, but this can also be forcibly adjusted
