Run a command every time you save a file

Features

  • A tool that automatically runs tests/linters/Docker builds, etc. when you change code
  • Language/editor agnostic
    • Supports Go, Python, Ruby, JS, PHP, Java, Kotlin, Rust, C++, Docker, etc. out of the box
    • Commands can be specified per file type with ?, *, **, etc.
  • Mac/Windows/Linux
  • Run options
    • -c: Specify the action to run on change. gaze a.py -c 'python "{{file}}"'
    • -r: Kill the existing process and restart
    • -t 1000: Wait 1000ms before killing the existing process (when testing infinite loops, etc.)
  • Also supports the create-and-rename save behavior of Vim, Visual Studio, etc.
  • Excellent parallel processing
    • If you update again while a process is auto-running after an update, it waits until the first process finishes
    • Even if you update twice while the first process is running, it runs only once more, on the final version
    • While a process is running for one changed file, if another file changes, it runs one more process
    • "Manages processes per command, not per file"
  • Open-source CLI written in Go
