A game jam is a contest in which participants try to make a video game from scratch. Depending on the format, participants may work alone or in teams. A game jam usually lasts between 24 and 72 hours. Participants are generally professionals in fields related to game development, such as programmers, game designers, artists, and writers. Traditionally, game jams focus on making video games; however, board games have also become a subject of game jams these days.
