Ftrace

Used to trace and debug the internal behavior of the kernel.
There are three main kinds of things you can trace.
- Event tracing (interrupt, scheduling, filesystem, etc.)
- Kernel function tracing (all kernel functions, call graph, stack usage)
- Latency tracing (wakeup, wakeup_rt, irqsoff, preemptoff, preemptirqsoff
You can configure ftrace and start tracing using specific files. These files are usually in the /sys/kernel/debug/tracing folder.
Some of the main files in the /sys/kernel/debug/tracing folder are as follows.
- available_tracers : lists the available tracers.
- current_tracer : shows the currently applied tracer.
- trace : shows the current trace log.
- README : descriptions and manual for each file.
