A fingerprint (North Korean standard language: songarakmunui, lit. "finger pattern") is the pattern formed by the raised lines (ridges) along which the openings of the sweat glands in the skin of the fingertips lie, or the trace left after the pattern of these ridges is deposited on the surface of an object.
