Final Cut Pro

Final Cut Pro is a professional non-linear editing system developed by Apple. It is widely used among independent filmmakers, and was first adopted by Hollywood film editors who traditionally used Avid software. The program can edit numerous digital formats such as DV, HDV, DVCProHD, XDCAM, 2K, and IMAX film formats. The system is currently available only on Mac OS X version 10.11.4 or later, and is a module of the Final Cut Studio product.
Since the early 2000s, Final Cut has developed an expanded user base. Final Cut Pro is used by professionals and in numerous broadcast systems, which lets it save as much cost as an offline editor as a digital online editor. Final Cut Pro is also very popular with independent and semi-professional filmmakers. It can edit footage ranging from MiniDV video with FireWire attached and consumer digital video cameras, to professional DV cameras, to high-definition (HD) data in various HD standards including HDV. Such software captures footage by recording it to the computer's hard drive, where it can be edited and processed.
