Docker Fig provides fast, isolated development environments using Docker. It also moves the configuration needed to orchestrate Docker into a simple file called fig.yml. Fig handles everything from creating and running containers and forwarding ports to sharing and attaching disk volumes.
Orchard put Fig together last year to build a new system tool for working with Docker. It was developed as a way to set up development environments with Docker; it lets users define an environment that suits their app and lets databases and caches run inside Docker. Fig effectively solved a problem that had been painful for developers. Docker fully supports this open-source project and recently acquired Orchard to extend Fig.
