A Feistel cipher is a type of block cipher whose encryption consists of repeating a particular computational function. The function used in each step is called the round function.
Many block ciphers have a Feistel structure. For example, DES, Blowfish, and SEED have a Feistel structure. However, there are also block ciphers without a Feistel structure, such as AES.
