Electromagnetism (電磁氣學) is the study of electric and magnetic phenomena. Electricity and magnetism form the electromagnetic field. Magnetic phenomena already appear in Chinese texts around 2000 BC, and electricity was also known in the ancient Greek world around 700 BC. However, it was only in the 19th century that electricity and magnetism were shown to be phenomena of the same fundamental interaction, the electromagnetic force.
