Earth Sciences

Earth science is the collective name for the disciplines that study the Earth. The disciplines generally called earth sciences include meteorology, which studies phenomena in the atmosphere; geology, which mainly studies the materials of the Earth's surface; oceanography, which studies phenomena of the sea; and geophysics, which studies phenomena occurring deep inside the Earth. In South Korea, astronomy is usually also included in earth science.
