Drag and drop (Drag-and-drop) is the action, in a computer graphical user interface environment, of clicking on a visual object and dragging it to a different location or onto another virtual object. It can trigger many kinds of actions and can create various kinds of associations between two abstract objects.
Not all software supports drag and drop for its functions, but it can sometimes serve as a fast and easy-to-learn technique for users to perform tasks. However, because of a lack of affordance for drag-and-drop functionality, it is not always clear whether an item can be dragged.
