A bookkeeping method that also records the causes of cash inflows and outflows as well as credit transactions.
For this it uses two sides, debit and credit. When a transaction occurs and is recorded in an account, two corresponding entries are made at the same time so that the total of the debit amounts and the total of the credit amounts always remain equal.
