- DiffX is fully compatible with the existing format and provides a future-proof structure and metadata extensibility
- Can store multiple commit information, binary files, character encodings, and metadata in a structured way
- Standardized parsing rules let various tools (patch, code review, etc.) integrate easily
- Works without issues in existing tools and workflows; only the new features require support from the respective tool
