Decompiler

A decompiler is a computer program that performs the reverse of a compiler. That is, it transforms program code at a relatively low level of abstraction into a high level of abstraction. A decompiler usually cannot perfectly reconstruct the original source code, and the results can vary greatly. Nevertheless, it is a very important tool in software reverse engineering. A decompiler takes an executable file as input and produces a source code file that performs the same function, that is, in a high-level language.
