Debugfs

lastmod 2018-11-26created 2017-04-284 edits

debugfs is a special file system used in the Linux kernel since version 2.6.10-rc. It was created by Greg Kroah-Hartman.

debugfs is an easy-to-use RAM-based file system designed specifically for debugging purposes. It exists to make it easy for kernel developers to make information available to user space. Unlike /proc, which is meant only to provide information about processes, or sysfs, which has a strict one-value-per-file rule, it has no rules. Developers can put any information they want there.
