Complementary colors

Complementary colors (complementary color, 補色) are pairs of colors that form a color contrast. The term usually refers to pairs of colors based on the subtractive mixing used in art and printing, but which colors pair up as complements differs depending on the color space. Colors that face each other on the color wheel are complementary. Using complementary colors to exploit the difference between two colors is called complementary contrast.
