Command and control (C2, C²) is a collective term for command, the function of exercising military power by effectively using resources to accomplish a mission, and control, which, in exercising command, supervises subordinates' actions from a rational and efficient standpoint to achieve the commander's intent by evaluating and allocating the materiel, time, and places needed to carry out plans and by monitoring operational actions.
