Chladni figures are a phenomenon in which sound vibrations at specific frequencies form standing waves on a metal or glass plate, causing sand to gather at the parts of the plate that do not vibrate (nodes) and form visible geometric patterns. The key principle is that sound waves can be seen directly with the eyes.
