Claude Code calls you on the phone

About

  • A tiny plugin designed to notify you by phone when Claude Code finishes a task or needs a decision
  • You can talk to Claude and give it instructions even while jogging, and get real-time feedback even when you step away during development
  • Supports multi-turn conversations, and Claude can carry out other tasks such as web search even during a call
  • Compatible with a variety of devices, including smartphones, smartwatches, and landlines
  • Uses Telnyx or Twilio as the phone service provider
  • (Telnyx is recommended for being 50% cheaper, but I'm not sure it works in Korea. I believe Twilio does)
    • Outbound: \(0.007 per minute, phone number around ~\)1 per month
  • Handles speech recognition (STT) and speech synthesis (TTS) with the OpenAI API
  • Total call cost including OpenAI STT/TTS is about $0.03~0.04/min
  • The MCP server runs locally and relays the data flow between Claude Code and the phone network
    • Converts Claude's messages to speech and delivers them to the user
    • Converts the user's speech to text and returns it to Claude
    • Automates the webhook connection between the local MCP server and the phone service through ngrok tunneling
