Calculus (Latin, calculus, a small stone used for counting) is a branch of mathematics focused on limits, functions, derivatives, integrals, and infinite series.

Calculus is the field of mathematics that forms the foundation of analysis. Short for differential and integral calculus, it rests, as the name says, on two pillars: differentiation, which deals with local change, and integration, which deals with the accumulation of local quantities.
