The elements of the C language library are also included as a subset of the C++ Standard library. These cover many aspects, from general utility functions and macros to input/output functions and dynamic memory management functions.
The C standard library is a collection of header files and library routines, used in the C programming language to add everyday tasks such as input/output and string management. Unlike languages such as COBOL, Fortran, and PL/I, C has no built-in keywords for these tasks, so almost every C program uses the standard library to implement them.
| cassert (assert.h) | C Diagnostics Library (header) | Supports the assert macro, error types for logic errors and debugging, etc. |
| cctype (ctype.h) | Character handling functions (header) | Provides early uppercase/lowercase conversion functions. |
| cerrno (errno.h) | C Errors (header) | Error handling, such as converting the types of errors raised in functions. |
| cfloat (float.h) | Characteristics of floating-point types (header) | Defines floating-point characteristics. |
| ciso646 (iso646.h) | ISO 646 Alternative operator spellings (header) | ISO 646 string handling. |
| climits (limits.h) | Sizes of integral types (header) | Defines characteristics of integer types. |
| clocale (locale.h) | C localization library (header) | Locale-related constants. Used for handling international languages. |
| cmath (math.h) | C numerics library (header) | Math functions. |
| csetjmp (setjmp.h) | Non local jumps (header) | Declares the setjmp and longjmp macros. |
| csignal (signal.h) | C library to handle signals (header) | Controls various kinds of exception handling. |
| cstdarg (stdarg.h) | Variable arguments handling (header) | Variable argument handling. Functions such as va_start, va_arg, va_end. |
| cstddef (stddef.h) | C Standard definitions (header) | Defines/declares useful types and macros. |
| cstdio (stdio.h) | C library to perform Input/Output operations (header) | Provides input/output for the C language. |
| cstdlib (stdlib.h) | C Standard General Utilities Library (header) | General utility library. |
| cstring (string.h) | C Strings (header) | String manipulation. |
| C Time Library (header) | Time and date conversion functions. |
IOS C Library
| complex.h | C99 | Set for handling complex numbers. |
| fenv.h | C99 | Controls the floating-point environment. |
| inttypes.h | C99 | Exact conversion of integer variables. |
| iso646.h | NA1 | ISO 646 string handling. |
