CAdvisor

lastmod 2018-08-17created 2015-12-191 edits

cAdvisor (Container Advisor) is a daemon that runs containers and collects, aggregates, processes, and exports information to help container users understand resource usage and performance. For each container, cAdvisor provides resource isolation parameters and historical resource usage, represents the full history of resource usage as histograms, and provides network statistics. This data is exported per container, independent of the machine.

cAdvisor runs on most Linux distributions and supports many kinds of containers, including Docker. It has effectively become the monitoring agent for containers, is integrated into many systems, and is also one of the most downloaded images on Docker Hub. The team looks forward to cAdvisor growing to understand application performance more deeply and to integrate information across the whole cluster.
