Notes on how to install Boost on CentOS-based systems.
How to install
Add the EPEL repository and update the system.
yum install epel-release
yum update
Install the development environment and Boost.
yum groupinstall "Development tools"
yum install boost*
Remove the installed Boost and install the latest version manually.
yum remove boost* (last two steps to get initial dependencies)
yum install libicu libicu-devel zlib-devel zlib python-devel bzip2-devel texinfo
Download tarball of boost_1_55 and extract
/bootstrap.sh --with-icu
./b2 -d0 -a
