A book (冊, English: Book) is a bound collection of writing composed for a certain purpose, together with attached reference materials and the like. It is also called seosa (書史), seojil, seojeok (書籍), seojeon (書典), seochaek (書冊), chaekja (冊子), munjeok (文籍), jeonjeok (典籍), pyeonjeok (篇籍), or doseo (圖書). A book's layout can be divided into the cover, prefatory remarks (preface, foreword), introduction, table of contents, body, index (term index), and so on. Most books are made from wood. However, with the recent boom in e-book publishing, the distinction by material no longer means much.

Han Kang - The Vegetarian- As the frame of a 'linked novel' suggests, three stories are painted on a single canvas.
- the story of a woman who begins to refuse meat, <The Vegetarian>,
- the story of a man who feels an intense attraction to that woman's Mongolian spot, <Mongolian Spot>,
- and the story of a woman who watches two people who, like Icarus, try to transcend and are destroyed as human beings, <Flaming Trees>
