A browser-based open-source audio editor with no backend
About
- A web-based audio editor that runs in the browser alone, implemented in pure JavaScript
- Supports DAW-grade effects including trimming, cut, copy, paste, fade, compressor, reverb, pitch shift, and click/hum repair
- Graph-based pitch/speed profiles for fine-grained graph editing of pitch and speed, such as Doppler-style shifts and ramp effects
- Automatic beat detection + metronome bars + beat-snap editing for loop and timing work
- Seamless loop feature: crossfade adjustment, silence trimming, zero-crossing snap, and repeat preview all handled on one screen
- Preview before applying effects; apply to the selected region or the whole file
- Multitrack mode: drag-and-drop clip placement, automatic crossfade on overlap, volume/pan/mute/solo/record-arm controls, and a separate Mixer view
- Multitrack sessions can be saved and restored as .amss files (original audio + JSON layout, LZMA compression)
- The final result is mixed down to a single WAV or MP3 via offline rendering
- Built-in undo stack, so experimental edits can be reverted
- Supports markers, beat bars, and hotkeys for fast navigation even in long audio
- Dockable UI: panels can be detached and docked by reusing window.open + iframe
- Current limitations: noise may occur due to Web Audio API garbage collector interference, decodeAudioData cannot be canceled, mobile optimization is incomplete
- Plans for a full Canvas/WebGPU rewrite, a move to WASM, and mobile improvements
- MIT license
