The four core principles Astral emphasizes are:

1. recognize the limits of CI/CD, and boldly give up tasks that cannot be done safely or split them out into a GitHub App,
2. eliminate long-lived credentials where possible and isolate them to the minimum scope,
3. harden the release process with deployment environments, approvals, immutable tags, etc.,
4. continuously keep track of the health of the entire dependency tree.
