Arch Linux is a Linux distribution for x86-64.

The Arch Linux development team focuses on simplicity, code correctness, and minimalism. It also expects users to make an effort to understand how the system works. Arch Linux uses its own package manager, pacman, to install, remove, and update packages. Because it uses a rolling release model, installing the latest software only requires a system update. The installation media distributed by the Arch Linux development team are simply snapshots of the latest versions of the main system components.

Unlike Ubuntu or Fedora, Arch Linux does not adopt a default desktop environment, so when installing Arch Linux the user chooses and sets up the desktop environment or window manager they will use.

Arch Linux has extensive material in a community called the ArchWiki.
