Arc (web browser)

Arc is a freeware web browser developed by The Browser Company, an American startup company founded by Josh Miller and Hursh Agrawal and owned by Atlassian since 2025. It was first released for macOS in 2023 and is also available on Windows, iOS, and Android.
Arc is based on Chromium and written in Swift. It supports Google Chrome browser extensions and uses Google Search by default.
The browser was announced via Twitter on April 19, 2022. It previously went through beta testing with about 100 testers, who were bound by a non-disclosure agreement. Users must sign up for an Arc account with an email address to use the browser.

Arc Max
- With Arc Max, a generative AI feature, you can automate tasks such as summarizing the web page you are viewing, asking questions about the content of a web page, or renaming downloaded files.
- Holding the Shift key and hovering the cursor over a link shows a summary of the link's content without opening it.
