The apple (sagwa, 沙果) is a fruit, one of the most widely cultivated fruits in the world. It is also called pyeonggwa (苹果) or binpa (頻婆).
Apples ripen in autumn and are usually 5–9 centimeters in diameter. Very rarely, they reach 15 centimeters. The seeds contain trace amounts of cyanide. They are used as an ingredient in salads, juice, pies, curry, and more.
