Anthropology (人類學) is the discipline that studies everything about human beings. As a result, its subjects and scope of research are extremely broad. It was systematized as a discipline from the 19th century onward and developed with different interests in the United States and Europe. Today, anthropology is divided into several more specialized subdisciplines, including physical anthropology, archaeology, and cultural anthropology. The research areas of physical anthropology include the origin and evolution of humans and the diversity of modern humans. Archaeology's main area of research is studying ancient human remains, such as those from prehistoric times, to shed light on the culture of the time. Cultural anthropology is the holistic study of the many diverse cultures that exist today. It studies various aspects of cultural life, such as family, kinship, economic life, political life, and religious life, across diverse cultures ranging from those that still use stone tools to modern industrial societies, in order to discover the internal rules of each society.
