Administration of Business

Business administration (經營學) is a discipline that became independent from economics in the 20th century, as industrial structures grew more complex and competition among countless companies intensified, in order to systematize and pass on the knowledge needed to actually run a company. Its research covers practical problems arising, broadly, in the national economy and, narrowly, in companies. Business administration can be seen as directly involved in research and practice concerning plans and improvements to organizational systems for the development of the national economy and companies, that is, for efficiency and greater profitability. In this respect, business administration is an applied discipline of economics.

However, because business administration systematically studies the operation, organization, and direction of organizations, it is not limited to the economy or business activities; it can be applied to any organization.
